Red Dead Redemption PS3

The Korean ratings board for video games is notorious for letting things slip, and it looks like it's happened again. This time, though, it's a newly posted rating for a game that's over 10 years old — Red Dead Redemption.

Over on the website, the listing is available to view, and the English translation certainly sounds like Rockstar's PS3-era classic. But why apply for a new rating for this game in 2023? The conclusion many are coming to is that Rockstar is bringing the game onto modern platforms in one way or another. Indeed, the listing states Take Two applied for the rating on 15th June 2023 and it's now been approved, so it's a fresh rating.

Fans of the open world western are hoping for a remaster, or even a remake, on modern hardware. Unfortunately there's no indication of that on the listing itself; this could be a more straightforward port. Whatever the case may be, Korean ratings like this usually lead to an announcement down the line, so we'd expect to hear something about this in the coming months.

What do you make of this? Are we joining John Marston once again with a revisit to Red Dead Redemption? Discuss in the comments section below.
